Lees of Scotland have scooped a prestigious ‘Q’ Award for their Strawberry and White Chocolate Meringues produced for Asda’s Extra Special Range. The Extra Special Meringues won Best Bakery Product.
The annual Quality Food and Drink Awards is judged by a panel consisting of 400 food and drink experts who look at everything from taste, texture and flavour to value for money, innovation and packaging. The ‘Q’ logo is considered one of the most recognisable marks of excellence for retailers, manufacturers, food service providers, wholesalers and suppliers alike.
Sheevaun Thomas, NPD Manager for Lees of Scotland said:
“Since launching the Extra Special Strawberry and White Chocolate Meringues earlier this year we’ve had great feedback and we’re delighted that customers around the UK have been enjoying the meringues.
“The team at Lees have had a busy year creating delicious products and winning a ‘Q’ Award is an amazing end to a great year.”
Heather Turnbull, Asda’s regional buying manager for Scotland, added,
“Winning this award is testament not only to the quality of our Extra Special range, but to the hard work and dedication the local suppliers we work with bring to the creation of their products. Lees of Scotland meringues are no exception to this, and we’re delighted to be recognised by food and drink experts from across the UK. A big well done to Lees!”
