Lees of Scotland invited p7 pupils from Carnbroe and Sikeside Primary schools to put their creativity and their entrepreneurship skills to the test, in a Dragon’s Den style challenge.
Over 50 pupils aged between 10 and 11 were asked to design posters advertising Lees of Scotland’s best-selling Snowballs and present their posters in front of their parents, their teachers and Lees of Scotland MD, Clive Miquel and new product development manager, Sheevaun Thomas.
Principle teacher, Ms Karen Smith said:
“The team from Lees visited us earlier this month to chat to the children about their products and how a local company promotes their products. The kids were all very excited to get stuck in and worked together in groups to create posters and presentations.
“We had some groups acting out their own adverts, some ideas for new products and some great ideas for a new Lees jingle.”
Clive Miquel, MD for Lees of Scotland said:
“Selecting the winner was not an easy task – we ended up picking two! We were very impressed with the amount of enthusiasm and work the budding marketers put into the project, and we’ll be showcasing some of the artwork on our Facebook page and our website.
“We found out that some of the kids asked their parents to take them to local shops to look at posters, and product displays. You could see that they had really done their research.”
He continued:
“It’s very interesting to see how young people perceive our brand and we’ve really enjoyed working with the pupils, from the initial briefing to final presentations.”
A selection of the posters are now on display in the Lees of Scotland’s head office.
