The Waverley Bakery has launched its campaign to search for the winner of the 2014 Golden Cone Award.

The Golden Cone Awards were launched last year with Scotland’s favourite Sunday newspaper, The Sunday Mail, and is bigger and better this time around!

The campaign to find the country’s favourite place to enjoy ice-cream has been running over the past month and the top twelve finalists will be announced in the Sunday Mail on the 11th May.

Celebrating Scotland’s passion for ice-cream, the campaign has been encouraging customers to vote for their favourite place to eat and enjoy ice-cream.

Voters have also been asked to send in their stories and reasons as to why they want their favourite ice-cream destination to win, giving a real sense of nostalgia to the campaign.

Once the finalists have been shortlisted a panel of judges including Scottish actress Libby McArthur and industry specialist Jean Pearce  of Danisco/DuPont will visit the establishments in order to select the 2014 Golden Cone
