The Waverley Bakery goes Pink for Charity!

The Waverley Bakery has, throughout October, teamed up with the winner of the 2014 Golden Cone Awards to produce pink ice-cream cones for Breakthrough Breast Cancer.

Following an innovative suggestion from Jannettas Gelateria in St Andrews, Waverley has come up with an ingenious formula to create pink wafer cones.

The cones are completely different and the first of their kind! Along with Waverley and Jannetta’s, ice cream shops throughout the country will be fundraising and raising awareness for Breakthrough Breast Cancer through the sale of the cones.

As the UK’s leading breast cancer charity, Breakthrough Breast Cancer is dedicated to saving lives through improving early diagnosis, developing new treatments and preventing all types of the disease.

The need for Breakthrough Breast Cancer’s work has never been greater. Breast cancer is still the most commonly diagnosed cancer in Scotland, affecting over 4,500 women and killing 1,000 every year. The charity funds 25% of the breast cancer research in the UK, campaigns to ensure survival rates are among the best in the world and educates women to recognise the signs and symptoms of the disease.

These fantastic pink cones will be on sale in ice cream shops nationwide throughout the month of October, so make sure to get your hands on them while you can!
